Source: Press Release, April 20, 2007

ABN AMRO today unveiled its latest offering for affluent customers in Malaysia - Van Gogh Preferred Banking (VGPB).

Coinciding with the opening of the bank’s new country headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the launch of VGPB signals the bank’s intention to dominate the fast growing wealth management segment in Malaysia.

Located at Level 1 Menara Maxis, the bank’s new premises will house a Van Gogh Preferred Banking Lounge, as well as an expanded office space to accommodate ABN AMRO’s growing workforce.

The launch was officiated by; Mr. Jim Brown, ABN AMRO’s Head of Consumer Client Segment in Asia and Mr. Harry Naysmith, Managing Director and Country Executive of ABN AMRO in Malaysia.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Brown said: "With the gaining affluence and increasing demand for more personalised financial services in Asia, we are experiencing tremendous growth in our wealth management business. Our success is based on our ability to combine global product expertise with local client knowledge, providing the unique customer-focused banking experience our clients demand".

Reinforcing this message, Mr. Naysmith said: "ABN AMRO is committed to the long-term growth of the Malaysia market and the launch of VGPB here represents an important step in our continued commitment to this market. Leveraging on our world-class product capability, VGPB is especially designed to meet our clients’ need for individual recognition and to fulfil their desire for a greater range of products and services, beyond simple banking transactions".

Underlining the bank’s growth ambitions elsewhere in Malaysia, ABN AMRO will, in June this year, relocate to its very own heritage building in Penang, which it acquired in 1903. Last month, the bank opened its Islamic window in Malaysia to expand its Shariah-compliant products in the local market. Further, by end of June 2007, ABN AMRO will open branches in two additional locations – Johor Bahru and Sitiawan, meeting the strong demand for wealth management and financial services in these areas.

ABN AMRO’s VGPB service enjoys worldwide fame and is already a leading wealth management service across nine countries in Asia including; China, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia.

ABN AMRO’s VGPB customers have access to a range of unique services including personalised attention from local Relationship Managers, Investment Consultants, Product Specialists and customised solutions tailored to meet their individual financial needs. VGPB customers also benefit from access to ABN AMRO’s international network of experts in financial and wealth management. Kuala Lumpur, 20 April 2007.
